Best Practices

Drive Smarter, Not Harder

Becoming a great driver is not about reflexes — it's about building deliberate habits. From where you position your mirrors to how you manage fatigue on long drives, these evidence-based protocols will measurably improve your safety margin and reduce your stress behind the wheel.

Core Protocols

Four Habits That Save Lives

The 12-Second Scan

Train your eyes to look 12 seconds ahead of your vehicle — roughly a city block. This gives you the reaction time to adjust speed, change lanes, or stop safely before a hazard becomes a crisis.

The 3-Second Following Rule

Maintain at least a 3-second gap from the vehicle ahead under normal conditions, doubling to 6 seconds in rain or reduced visibility. Tailgating is the single most common precursor to rear-end collisions.

Hand Position Discipline

Keep both hands on the wheel in the 9-and-3 position. This gives you the fastest possible steering response and the most leverage in emergency manoeuvres — while keeping your arms away from airbag deployment zones.

Fatigue Management

Driver fatigue impairs reaction time as severely as a 0.08 BAC. Never drive after being awake for more than 17 hours, and stop for a 20-minute rest every 2 hours on long journeys.
